The most fabulous Datolite colors from the Keweenaw Peninsula came from the Mesnard Copper Mine, and it was known for bright pastel colors of orange, pink, yellow/orange and red. This stone was found long ago, the waste piles that came out of this mine is now gone, sold off for road gravel.
As we attend rock swaps in the Keweenaw, fewer and fewer Datolites of any color are being found, or sold. White is the predominant color, and color like this is almost unknown any more. If you love colored Datolite, please choose one now. Snob Appeal Jewelry has the best selection of pretty Datolites on the web.
A meticulous wire wrap of 14/20 gold fill and twisted pink gold makes a simple elegant look to this natural stone. Wire work and Lapidary are by Don Reed. These colorful Mesnard Datolites are becoming exceedingly scarce. Something to treasure and wear today, and a great heirloom for future rock lovers. Buy this beauty for your enjoyment today!
