Morrisonite is considered the king of Jasper's, the most desirable jasper, with very little material coming out of a small area in eastern Oregon. It has not been commercially mined since 1995, and the high quality used in this pendant is considered quite rare. A gorgeous piece of jewelry, Morrisonite Jasper like this is seldom seen on the Internet. This has been the case for many years.

Known for remarkable patterns and colors, Morrisonite has long been a most coveted type of non traditional gemstone. The cabochon in this pendant came from material in an old collection I recently acquired. It could best be described as having a riot of reds, pinks, and greens swirled into an amazing picture pattern.
