Jubilant Michigan Greenstone Pendant

The Copper Country is a magical place with rare rocks not found anywhere else; chlorastrolite was chosen as the Michigan State Gem. Greenstones today are very hard to find, and they have always been tricky to develop their best patterns, with many of them yielding disappointing results.  Many of our rock hunting areas are now closed or have been used for a gravel source. Most Greenstones are smaller than a pea, so when you develop a nice pattern all across a big stone, and it has some chatoyance, it is an exciting day in the lapidary room! And it will make an exciting day for you or your special person!

This stone probably came from the Central or Phoenix mine some years ago and recently came to the surface in our shop. The Wire work is a combination of Argentium silver which has been hand twisted to add decoration, and Gold fill.  The effect is very elegant, on a lovely stone.

This large, unique stone pendant will be a delight for the owner, and an heirloom to be shared.  This is one-of-a-kind, if you like it, don't let it get away!
