This Mesnard Mine Datolite is ridded with dark copper, you can see bits of the copper along the gray lines it forms. Wire wrapped in both Argentium silver and gold fill, the silver is twisted, adding a sparkle to the wires. Both colors of wire hug around the edge of the stone. Gold forms the wraps around the silver bundle, completed with beautiful side-to-side swirls at the top. This could be worn with either a silver or gold chain. In Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, Datolite is found in fissure veins or as nuggets, and is closely associated with copper deposits. White is the most common color of Datolite. Other colors may be characteristic of different mines. Pink, red, brown, mauve, orange, green, gray, blue, yellow, even black are some of the colors found.

Datolite is a borosilicate mineral most commonly formed in air bubbles in basalt.
