One of the many unusual and rare gemstones occurring in Michigan's Copper Country is the copper agate. These unusual agates from the Kearsarge lode never cease to amaze and surprise when they are cut open from dark green nodules found by careful searching in certain areas near Calumet. This is what you see on the back side of the pendant. Many of the banded agates at these locations have some banding replaced by copper. These agates have become coveted within the last few years.
