Like Northern Thunder, this rare piece of Thunder Bay Seam Agate was there one day and gone the next, mined for a brief period of time. Seam Agate was discovered while constructing a road East of Thunder Bay, Ontario, around 2000. A small sign led us to a small mining operation.
I bought some of this Seam Agate, knowing how rare Seam Agate is, and recognizing this was unique material. Two decades later, I am finally cutting, and making jewelry from the rough Agate I obtained back then. The mine operated for around three years, and closed when the property was depleted of Agate.
This is really a great gift for someone who appreciates a crystal cave!
