Rutile is an ore of Titanium and ribbon-like stars are a more unusual form than the needles that more commonly appearing in Quartz. This gemstone is from Minas Gerais, Brazil and is truly beautiful. The gemstone may be small in size, but it is big in appeal. I was so happy when I found this beauty at the Tucson Gem Shows.
Pink 14/20 double gold filled wires perfectly match the pink-like shine of the Rutile. The wrap was kept fairly simple so as not to distract from the gemstones' beauty. Small gemstones are a greater challenge that are larger cabochons, and require specialized custom-made tools. it's worth the expense and time in this case.
