Worlds Largest Lake Superior Agate

Panera Bread is a great place to have coffee, a pecan roll, and to blog. Everyone likes my blog from Minnesota, and I really appreciate it. People at the Agate Show from all over have told me they follow my blog–how nice!

The excitement was high at the Celebration of Agate Show today. We talked to people that just came to the show on a lark and could not believe what they saw.

World Record Agates appeared at Scott Wolter's booth today.

Has anyone had a show to crown the biggest/best Lake Superior Agate as opposed to the normal show/sale venue. This may bring out agates that have been discovered but are not for sale. If this already being done could you tell me where and when?
    Thanks.

The largest glacial Laker is owned by Scott Wolter and it was shown at the Festival of Agates and other shows. I have blogged about this show, as we were vendors, and a photo of this agate as well as others is seen in blogs from this show. http://www.snobappealjewelry.com/blog/?p=1936

How is that the record lake superior agate? There’s a 108 lb lake superior agate on display in Moose Lake, MN.

This agate belonged to Scott Wolter, who is considered one of the leading experts on Lake Superior Agates. He wrote several books on Lake Superior Agated. He is also always at Moose Lake and lives in Minnesota. I think “Glacial Agate” is the key in the answer to your question. I know he has seen the agate in Moose Lake many times. I believe the one at Moose Lake is not “Glacial”. I am at a disadvantage as I have never been to Moose Lake, but I have to believe Scott if he ID’s a Laker.
